The Collingwood faithful are invited to join Magpie players and coaches and stand side by side in support of Make-A-Wish® Australia (Portland Branch) by attending the launch of the 2013 One Big Red Money Walk For Wishes at Olympic Park Oval on Monday 24 June at 7:45am.

Coach Nathan Buckley, captain Nick Maxwell and his team mates will join representatives from Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police in wishing walkers farewell as they depart from the Westpac Centre and commence an arduous 438km journey by foot.

Founded in 2009, the Big Red Money Walk seeks to raise funds to grant wishes for children with life threatening medical conditions, generating donations as six people trek by foot from Melbourne to Portland.

Borne from the simple wish of a seriously ill child for one ‘big red money’ to purchase new toys, the Big Red Money Walk raised over $20,000 last year to help make wishes come true for seriously-ill children around Australia.

Growing in popularity each successive year, Make-A-Wish® Australia (Portland Branch) is aiming to surpass last year’s fundraising total in the hope of granting more wishes for children around the country.
