Collingwood development coach Scott Selwood has been appointed an assistant to interim AFL senior coach Robert Harvey.

Selwood will take over responsibilities for the midfield that were previously held by Brenton Sanderson. Sanderson has switched to defence, taking those duties from Harvey who has replaced Nathan Buckley as senior coach.

“Scott was a very good midfielder and leader as a player and he has impressed in his time with us as a coach. With  ‘Sando’ having previously coached defence and comfortable to do so again we thought the best option was for Scott to step up from development and into the midfield line,” Collingwood GM of Football, Graham Wright, said.

“Harves has worked closely with Scott in the past. They have a good relationship and it is a good opportunity for us to develop Scott.”
