Collingwood midfielder Josh Daicos will miss four to six weeks with a finger injury.

Daicos was subbed out at three quarter time of the Round 16 clash against St Kilda after an incident during that quarter.

In positive news, draftee Reef McInnes is nearing full fitness and could return via the VFL on Sunday.

Aiden Begg (shoulder) - Expected return: 2022

  • Post-shoulder surgery. Begg is continuing a running and strength conditioning block.

Tyler Brown (shoulder) - Expected return: 2022

  • Post-shoulder surgery. Brown is currently in early stages of developing strength in the gym while in a sling.

Josh Daicos (finger) - Expected return: 6 weeks

  • Fractured finger during the loss to St Kilda. Scans revealed numerous fractures and will require surgery to repair. What occurs during the surgery will determine exact timeline.

Jeremy Howe (hamstring) - Expected return: 1-2 weeks

  • Transitioning back into the football program. Howe will look to have a spike in his training output and progress into the full program over the next two weeks.

Ash Johnson (finger) - Expected return: 2 weeks

  • Johnson will begin ball handling, grappling and tackling this week and look to join the full football program next week.

Beau McCreery (hamstring) - Expected return: 5-6 weeks

  • McCreery had his first running session since straining his hamstring in Round 15. 

Reef McInnes (ankle) - Expected return: 2-3 weeks

  • Tracking well and is a chance to return via the VFL on Sunday. McInnes will have to tick boxes during training on Wednesday and Friday to get the call up.

Darcy Moore (knee) - Expected return: 2022

  • Moore will have a review next week to evaluate the knee brace. Low level strength work will begin as Moore looks to be fit for the pre-season.
