Collingwood fans will get a look at what the next captain of the club could look like over the next few weeks with Scott Pendlebury on the sidelines with a leg injury.

Interim coach Robert Harvey revealed that the role will be shared between the current vice-captains throughout the remaining rounds of the season.

"We've got three vice-captains, so we'll share that role amongst Sidebottom, Adams and Howe. Steele Sidebottom will be our captain this week," Harvey said.

"Pendlebury has been as good a captain as I've seen. That's a great starting point, [they're] very lucky to have a guy like that to be able to be mentor these guys.

"Adams is ready to go, so is Sidebottom who has been here for a very long time and Jeremy Howe is a real spiritual guy of this group and puts his hand up straight away. If that's they way it went, all those boys are equally ready to go."
