Collingwood has announced a streamlined leadership group for 2022.

With the recent appointment of Scott Pendlebury as captain for a ninth consecutive season, the Collingwood board ratified the appointments of a further three leaders last night.

Taylor Adams, Jeremy Howe and Darcy Moore will support Pendlebury as vice-captains.

This will be Adams’ seventh season in the leadership group, whilst Howe prepares for his fifth.

Moore was elevated to the leadership group last year following an outstanding 2020 season. This is his first year as a vice-captain.

The 26-year-old will return to the game after injuring his right knee in the final minutes of Collingwood’s Round 13 match against Melbourne last year. He was on track for a stellar campaign at that point, later polling in nine out of 13 games in the E. W Copeland Trophy count.

Appointment of the club’s leaders is a player-led process. The squad and key senior staff nominate and vote on candidates before a final recommendation is put to the club’s board for approval.

Pendlebury will be available for comment at 11am today on Olympic Park oval.
