Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy will miss a number of weeks of the 2022 season due to a knee injury.

Scans today revealed the 28-year-old two-time All Australian injured the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a hit out contest in yesterday’s ANZAC day match against Essendon at the MCG.

“We are all disappointed for Brodie. While he is a key member of our team and will be missed, out of adversity comes opportunity for other members of the squad to play a role during this time,” Collingwood GM of Football, Graham Wright, said.

“We know Brodie will be dedicated to his rehabilitation and will continue to remain involved with the team as he recovers.”

Grundy will consult with specialists later this week. A further update will be provided then.
