The game started off on the Sun’s terms, with the Pies coming back towards the end of the first quarter bringing the margin back to six.

The second quarter was high scoring with both teams kicking five and Collingwood putting themselves right in it with a seven point margin.

Cooper Murley and Matt Wetering were adding to the scoreboard after some brilliant work around the ground from the mids.  

Collingwood had the lead at three-quarter-time but could not manage to hold on as the Sun’s powered through until the end. 

There were plenty of positives to take from the game, as they were competitive all day.

Matt Wetering was extremely influential in the forward line kicking five goals from nine touches, making the most of his opportunities.

Finlay Macrae and Trent Bianco were the major ball winners with 25 and 24 disposals respectively.

Will Kelly was dominant and impressed the coaches earning himself the player of the match.

With 18 touches and 7 marks, he was a reliable down back.

Collingwood have dropped to seventh on the ladder after some dominant performances across the league on the weekend.

Round 12 will see the Pies take on the undefeated Casey Demons at Casey Fields at 2:10pm Sunday 12th June.
