Collingwood continues to strengthen its list for the upcoming AFLW season, with six more players recommitting to the club.

Sophie Casey, Stacey Livingstone, Erica Fowler and Sarah Rowe have all penned two-year deals that will see them remain Magpies until the end of 2023.

As foundation members of Collingwood’s AFLW program, Livingstone and Casey will line up for their seventh seasons in the black and white come August.

Elevated to the Pies’ leadership group earlier this year, Livingstone is dependable down back with 45 games to her name.

The 34-year-old currently holds the record for the most consecutive game time in the league (25 games at 100% game time).

Known for her physicality, Casey continues to be a consistent and versatile performer for the side.

Sheridan will again be joined by fellow Irishwoman Sarah Rowe as the pair prepare for their fourth and fifth seasons respectively. The duo played every game across the 2022 season.

Since being drafted to Collingwood in 2019, Fowler has played 28 games across her four seasons as a Pie.

Downie joined Collingwood during last years’ AFLW sign and trade period and went on to average 14.1 hit outs throughout the 2022 season.

Collingwood has now secured 23 players for the upcoming season with further re-signings to be announced in the coming days.

Collingwood’s Head of Women’s Football Jess Burger said these recommitments put the program in a strong position ahead of the upcoming campaign.

“These players are critical to both our on and off field development in supporting our culture and performance in the now and in future years to come,” Burger said.

“The combination of experience and youth that has recommitted over this period signifies the ongoing belief of what we are building within our four walls.”

In other news, Collingwood’s 2022 replacement player Olivia Meagher was informed she will not receive another contract with the club.

The 20-year-old was elevated from the Pies’ VFLW program to the senior side for the 2022 season but did not make her AFLW debut.

“It’s been great to watch Olivia’s development during her time with our women’s football programs,” Burger said.

“We thank her for her contribution and wish her all the best for her football career ahead.”
