Collingwood fell short against the highly skilled Casey Demons 1.4 (10) to 7.3 (45) on Sunday.

The Pies can hold their heads high after a tough yet successful season.

Through injuries and illness, the team were able to make finals for the fourth consecutive year since the VFLW's inception.

The match was fairly even for almost the entire of the first quarter with both teams unable to score.

Casey were able to break that towards the end of the first and continued scoring into the second quarter.

Collingwood were unable to convert with the opportunities they had until Monique DeMatteo scored the only goal for the day in the third.

Unfortunately, it was too late as the lead was too strong to come back from.

The team never stopped fighting and gave everything they had.

Marla Neal was awarded player of the match with 17 disposals and 14 tackles, using her speed and strength to win the contests.

Molly Emond and Elizabeth Jackson were among the best, battling it out on the wing all game.

Although she did not convert, Nyakoat Dojiok was very impressive, taking contested marks and out running her opponents across the ground.

Young gun Charlotte Taylor impressed in the midfield having her best game yet with the Pies.
