Zander, with a total of 161 votes for the season, had another extremely successful season with the Pies.

With an average of 17.7 disposals and 9 goals, Zander was impressive in the midfield and as a small forward.

Originally from Gladstone, South Australia, Matilda Zander is based in Adelaide and has spent the last few years studying there.

With compulsory classes at her university in Adelaide, Zander made the trek every week back and forth to Melbourne to make sure she could play.

Zander’s commitment for the team was extraordinary and paid off with her having her best season to date.

Katie Lee claimed the runner up best and fairest with 99 votes, while Elisabeth Jackson claimed a close third with 98 votes.

Lee also claimed the players player award, showcasing her leadership on and off the field.
