Last time we met

Sydney 72 d Collingwood 42 (Round 9, 2021)

A slow-starting Swans outfit overran the Pies to claim a 30-point victory at the SCG. Collingwood sprinted to a three-goal lead at the first break but Sydney held them goalless in the next two quarters. Will Hoskin-Elliott was among our best, notching up 23 disposals and a goal, while Jack Crisp collected 23 touches.

Key matchups

Daicos siblings v McCartin siblings

While they won't matchup directly, it's not often two pairs of brothers play in opposing teams. Both Daicos siblings have been influential this season. Josh has cemented his wing king status - he was recently named alongside Steele Sidebottom as the highest rated wingmen in the league per official AFL player ratings. Nick is somehow exceeding the hype that preceded his first season, consistently gathering 30+ disposals a game. Paddy McCartin has been starring in defence and is ranked number one in the competition for intercept marks, while younger brother Tom (who also predominantly served as a forward before moving to the backline) is also an outstanding defender and averages seven spoils a game.

Look out for

The Swans have won five on the bounce and are still in the hunt for a top four finish. Expect players like Chad Warner, Tom Papley and Errol Gulden to produce standout performances.
