Two free agents and a traded-in recruit trained in Collingwood colours for the first time when the senior Magpies reported for duty on Monday morning.

Daniel Wells (North Melbourne), Chris Mayne (Fremantle) and Lynden Dunn (Melbourne) brought 580 games of senior AFL experience with them when they stepped onto the track.

"It's a bit strange coming here but the boys made me feel pretty welcome straight away, and the coaching staff as well, so it's been terrific," Wells told Collingwood Media.

"It was really good. I know Levi (Greenwood) pretty well, and a little bit of Travis Varcoe as well, but I'm pretty sure I'll start to develop some friendships along the way.

"There's nothing like hard work as a way to bond together."
