Collingwood’s Head of High Performance Jarrod Wade has provided an injury and health update ahead of Collingwood’s Anzac Day match against Essendon at the MCG on Friday.
UNAVAILABLE:
Darcy Moore
Darcy Moore sustained a lacerated earlobe which required stitches during the final quarter of Collingwood’s game against Brisbane on Thursday night. While he was cleared of concussion, he has developed inner ear symptoms this week which the Club’s medical team are assessing. He is not available for selection this week and the club will provide an update in due course.
OTHER:
Ash Johnson
Ash Johnson is progressing well through his recovery from a broken fibula. Johnson is out of the moon boot and has started the next phase of rehab which includes strengthening and plyometric exercises. Johnson is expected to commence running over the coming weeks.
Lachie Schultz
Lachie Schultz is making positive progress with his recovery from a hamstring injury with a focus on high-speed running over the next week. Schultz won’t play on Anzac Day and will be assessed next week to determine his availability for selection in Round Eight.
Fin Macrae
In Friday’s VFL game against Brisbane, Fin Macrae had a reoccurrence of his shoulder injury that he suffered during the pre-season. Macrae had multiple instability episodes throughout the game but was able to finish the match. On review from the specialist, Macrae will undergo shoulder stabilisation surgery this week. The typical timeline for a full recovery is 12-16 weeks.
Tom Mitchell
Tom Mitchell has returned to full team training. He will be managed over the next fortnight with a focus on increasing his loads, with a return-to-play timeline to be determined following this training block.
Harvey Harrison (ACL) and Reef McInnes (ACL) are both progressing well with their individual rehab programs.
