Collingwood’s Head of High Performance Jarrod Wade has provided an injury and health update ahead of Collingwood’s Round Eight match against Geelong at the MCG on Saturday.
AVAILABLE:
Darcy Moore
Darcy Moore developed inner ear and vertigo symptoms following the Round Six game against Brisbane, which ruled him out of the Anzac Day match. Moore has been cleared of these symptoms for three days now and has returned to training. He will continue to build over the coming days and will be available for selection.
TEST:
Lachie Schultz
Lachie Schultz returned to full training this week following his hamstring injury. Schultz will focus on high-speed running this week and will be a test for Saturday’s game against Geelong.
OTHER:
Joel Cochran
Joel Cochran sustained a concussion in Saturday’s VFL game against Essendon and has entered concussion protocols.
Ash Johnson
Ash Johnson is progressing well through his recovery from a broken fibula. Johnson is out of the moon boot and has started the next phase of rehab, which includes returning to running. Johnson will continue to work through a running program, with a four-to-five-week timeline to return to play.
Fin Macrae
Fin Macrae underwent successful shoulder surgery last week and is in recovery mode.
Dan McStay
Dan McStay sustained a medial collateral ligament (MCL) strain to his left knee during the final quarter of Collingwood’s Round Seven Anzac Day match. McStay will be in a knee brace for the next two weeks before commencing a rehabilitation program.
Tom Mitchell
Tom Mitchell has returned to full team training. Mitchell has shown positive signs, completing contact work and match play. He will be managed over the next fortnight, focusing on increasing his loads before being introduced to match minutes through the VFL.
Harvey Harrison (ACL) and Reef McInnes (ACL) are both progressing well with their individual rehab programs.
