Collingwood’s Head of High Performance Jarrod Wade has provided an injury and health update ahead of Collingwood’s Round 10 match against the Kuwarna at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
New updates:
Jordan De Goey
Jordan De Goey was managed for Collingwood’s Round 9 match against Fremantle on Thursday evening due to the Club’s five-day break.
De Goey experienced some Achilles pain in the back end of the week and had a further assessment with a specialist which determined a secondary Achilles tendon issue.
De Goey has commenced a rehab program to address this latest issue and will not be available this week. A timeline for De Goey’s return to AFL level will be communicated in due course.
Darcy Moore
Collingwood Captain Darcy Moore sustained a moderate grade AC-joint injury during the fourth quarter of the side’s Round 9 match against Fremantle.
Moore will be further assessed next week to determine his availability for Collingwood’s Round 11 match against North Melbourne.
Lachie Schultz
Lachie Schultz sustained a concussion in the final term of Collingwood’s Round 9 match and was ruled out of the game. Schultz has since commenced the concussion protocols under the care of the Club’s medical team.
Assess:
Brody Mihocek
Brody Mihocek will be assessed this week for an abdominal strain sustained during the side’s Round 8 match against Geelong. Mihocek needs to complete some contact work this week to be available for selection.
Available:
Tom Mitchell
Tom Mitchell returned to the VFL over the weekend following a foot injury. Mitchell completed 50 minutes of game time, and the Club will look to increase his playing loads this week.
