Bounce
Collingwood Captain Darcy Moore is among five changes to the Pies’ line-up for their Round 12 clash with Hawthorn at the MCG on Friday night.
Midfielders Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom and forwards Bobby Hill and Lachie Schultz will also return to the side.
Collingwood Coach Craig McRae touched on the importance of Schultz to the Pies’ system when speaking to media this week.
“He’s having a career-best year for us,” McRae said.
“He’s a barometer for our pressure – has been for the last 12 months. We just want him to play his role and show his toughness.”
Vice-Captain Brayden Maynard will miss the clash after he sustained a plantar fascia rupture in Round 11’s win over North Melbourne.
The defender will commence rehab and is expected to be sidelined for one-to-two weeks.
Forwards Mason Cox and Will Hayes and defenders Oleg Markov and Wil Parker have been omitted for the clash.
Oscar Steene, Markov and Hayes will be the emergencies for the clash.
Midfielder Ned Long will face his former club for the second time since being picked up by the Pies in the 2024 Mid-Season Draft.
McRae mentioned that he would maintain his centre-bounce attendances with Pendlebury and Sidebottom returning.
“I think Ned’s proving to be very valuable in the centre bounces,” McRae said.
“His pressure’s elite and his score involvements last week were off the charts.”
The tactical substitution will be selected from the bench and will be named 60 minutes before the first bounce.
Collingwood fans can watch the game live on Channel 7, Fox Footy and kayosports.com.au, with the first bounce at 7:40pm (AEST).
Tickets for the match are sold out. To attend this match you must hold a Ticketek ticket or have a reserved seat membership. General admission access is not available and no further tickets will be released.
