Big Freeze

Collingwood key forward Dan McStay will make his return to the side in the Pies’ Round 13 clash with Melbourne.

The 29-year-old hasn’t played since sustaining an MCL strain in Collingwood’s Anzac Day win over Essendon in Round 7. The 187-gamer has played seven matches and booted eight goals so far in 2025.

2024 draftee Will Hayes has also been included in the team to take on the Demons following his debut in the Round 11 45-point win over North Melbourne.

Midfielder Patrick Lipinski (concussion protocol) and forward Lachie Schultz (hamstring) will miss the clash.

2023 Premiership Player Bobby Hill will play 100th AFL match in the Big Freeze clash.

The Whadjuk-Ballardong Noongar man played 41 games for the Giants before crossing to the Pies ahead of the 2023 season.

The 25-year-old has kicked 114 goals in his career so far, won the 2024 Mark of the Year and he booted four goals in the 2023 Grand Final win over Brisbane to be awarded the Norm Smith Medal for best afield.

Collingwood Coach Craig McRae touched on the impact Hill has had in his 58 games for the Pies.

“He’s a little infectious guy that we love very much,” McRae said.

“We love how electrifying he can be. He can really give the X-factor to our team.

“When Bobby’s on, the MCG is alight. We’re really looking forward to celebrating Bobby for his 100th game. It’s a great achievement.”

Tom Mitchell, Wil Parker and Oscar Steene will be the emergencies for the clash.

The tactical substitution will be selected from the bench and will be named 60 minutes before the first bounce.

Collingwood fans can watch the game live on Channel 7, Fox Footy and kayosports.com.au, with the first bounce at 3:20pm (AEST).

Tickets for the match are sold out. General admission access is not available and no further tickets will be released.
