Collingwood will blood its third debutant this year, with mid-season draftee Roan Steele to make his AFL debut in this Friday’s Round 17 clash against Carlton at the MCG.

The 23-year-old arrived at the Magpies through pick eight in the 2025 Mid-Season Draft and has quickly impressed in his four outings at VFL level.

In his most recent outing, Steele accumulated 21 disposals and scored one goal in an impressive game against Southport on Saturday.

The winger has averaged 20.3 disposals from his four VFL games in black and white and 21 disposals from his seven WAFL games for West Perth prior to being selected in the Mid-Season Draft.

Before joining Collingwood, the midfielder played VFL for Casey Demons from 2022 to 2024 before moving across to West Perth in the WAFL in chase of his AFL dream.

Collingwood will name their full team for the clash against traditional rivals Carlton on Thursday night.
