Collingwood ruck Iliro Smit has penned a new deal, signing a one-year rookie contract.

Smit arrived at the Pies at Pick 10 in the 2024 Mid-Season draft, offering great depth for the team's ruck stocks.

Throughout his 14 games, Smit has been a solid contributor to the Club's VFL side this year, providing great height and strength in the ruck.

The 19-year-old had a standout game in Round 7 against the Northern Bullants, where he collected 22 hit outs and a goal.

"Iliro has shown great growth and development since arriving at the Club in last year's mid-season draft," General Manager of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch said.

"He is dedicated to continuing to grow and refine his ruck craft while also learn other key position roles, which has been evident throughout this year's VFL season.

"At only 19, Iliro has a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing him continue to grow."
