Collingwood superstar Nick Daicos has joined Western Bulldogs great Marcus Bontempelli as the only players to secure three 22Under22 Team captaincy nods.

Daicos, who in his fourth season has now been chosen in the side for a fourth time, has also had the captaincy next to his name for three years in a row now.

Bontempelli did the same between 2016-18 and also holds the record for most selections in the side (five).

Daicos will not be able to get to five given he turns 23 before the 2026 season will get underway, however he joins the likes of Sam Walsh and Bailey Smith with four selections.

The Magpies Vice Captain has earned his place in the side on the back of another remarkable home and away season, averaging 31 disposals through 22 games.

His 672 disposals for the year is 33 shy of the 705 he recorded in 2024, with the remaining home and away fixture this weekend plus finals seeing him set to record a new personal best.

Daicos' 2025 has also seen him Captain the Club for the first time in Darcy Moore's absence, with his leadership stocks growing significantly.

While selected in the initial 40-player squad, fellow Pie Ned Long was unfortunate to miss out on the final team.

After 22 matches this year - four of which have seen him start as the sub - Long ranks seventh in the league for tackles with 153 and has averaged 18 disposals.
