The VFL have today announced an extended 30-player rebel VFLW Team of the Year squad ahead of the 2025 VFL/W League Awards on Monday 15 September.

After making the 2025 rebel VFLW Grand Final last month, six Pies have been included in this year’s Team of the Year squad.

The Pies’ inclusions are headlined by Collingwood VFLW Captain and reigning Lambert-Pearce Medal winner Dom Carbone, who finished her first season in the black and white averaging 19.5 disposals and six tackles.

The former Bulldogs VFLW captain made an immediate impact this season, captaining the rebel VFLW State Team to a win over the SANFLW State Team in April, leading Collingwood to their second VFLW Grand Final appearance in three years.

Joining Carbone is fellow inside midfielder Tahlia Sanger, who averaged 21 disposals and seven tackles in her maiden VFLW season.

After a strong VFLW season which saw her become elevated to Collingwood’s AFLW list, versatile small forward Lily-Rose Williamson has also been named in the Team of the Year squad.

Williamson, who has also featured in the rebel VFLW State Team alongside Carbone, averaged 16.9 disposals in the VFLW before joining the Pies AFLW list.

Former Richmond AFLW forwards Courtney Jones and Amelia Peck made the squad, with Peck finishing an impressive season as second on the league leading goal scorers list with 24 majors to her name.

Rounding out Collingwood’s inclusions is 18-year-old winger Charlotte Brewer, who after 14 games with the Pies signed with Carlton’s AFLW program as an injury replacement player for season 2025.

The final 21-player Team of the Year will be announced on Monday 15 September at the 2025 VFL/W League Awards.
