First-year player Will Hayes and mid-season recruit Roan Steele have both signed two-year deals.
Hayes, who was already contracted for 2026, will extend his commitment to remain in the black and white until at least the end of 2028, while Steele’s contract sees him locked in until 2027.
Drafted with pick 56 in the 2024 National Draft, Hayes made his debut in Round 11 against North Melbourne and played two games in his maiden year.
19-year-old Hayes was influential throughout the VFL season, scoring 10 goals from 15 games, including a total of three majors against Box Hill in Round 10.
Originally from Frankston, Steele joined the Pies in June via the Mid-Season Rookie Draft from West Perth. The 23-year-old made his AFL debut within weeks of arriving at the Club.
In his first game, Steele collected a total of 19 touches, 11 kicks and four marks, helping Collingwood get over the line against Carlton by 56 points.
The midfielder went on to play another four games, including Collingwood’s two finals, taking his season total to five.
General Manager of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch said the Club was excited to sign the young pair.
“Roan and Will have both been fantastic additions to our program this year and we are pleased with the progress and development they’ve shown within our four walls,” Leppitsch said.
“It was great to see them both get opportunities at AFL level throughout 2025 and we look forward to seeing where they take their football over the coming years.
“Earlier in the year, we had a group of players, including Harry DeMattia, Harvey Harrison, Tew Jiath, Ned Long and Reef McInnes all recommit. To add Roan and Will to this list is a great result for the Club and Magpie fans should be excited by the young talent coming through our ranks.”
