AFLW Senior Coach Sam Wright has selected his extended squad to face the SUNS at Bond University on Sunday, with at least two changes set to be made to the side.
Coming out of the side is Gaelic cross-coder Kellyann Hogan and second year Pie Georgia Clark, who both sustained injuries in last week’s loss against Richmond.
Announced earlier today, Hogan will miss the remaining two clashes of 2025 with an MCL injury, while Clark has entered concussion protocols.
Defender Selena Karlson and midfielder Charlotte Taylor have both been named on the extended bench, with both players looking to play their first game of the 2025 season.
24-year-old Mikala Cann will suit up for her 75th AFLW match, becoming the fourth Collingwood player to reach the milestone.
Affectionately nicknamed 'The Bull', Cann was drafted by Collingwood with pick 13 in the 2018 draft and has been an integral part of the Pies’ engine room alongside inaugural Pies Brit Bonnici and AFLW Captain Ruby Schleicher.
Sunday will be the first time in AFLW history that the Pies will play the SUNS on the Gold Coast, providing an exciting opportunity for the local Magpie Army to see Collingwood in action.
The two sides last met in last year’s Week 5 clash at the Swinburne Centre, which saw Tarni White finish with two goals and Bonnici rack up 28 disposals and nine tackles in the Pies’ three-point win over the visitors.
Collingwood’s final team including three emergencies will be named on Friday at 5pm (AEDT).
