Update: Pies confirm squad to face Carlton

Training: Saturday special The boys took to the track for their main training session on Saturday morning at the Holden Centre.

Collingwood will be buoyed by the return of six players who figured in last year's Grand Final while former Magpies forward Alex Fasolo will face his old club in his first game for Carlton in the JLT Community Series hitout at Morwell on Monday.

The Magpies, who, like Carlton, will field a team of 26, have named giant forward Mason Cox, star midfielder Adam Treloar, backmen Jeremy Howe and Brayden Maynard, veteran swingman Tyson Goldsack and defensive runner Chris Mayne.

The Pies left out impressive young runners in Josh Daicos, Nathan Murphy and top draftee Isaac Quaynor, along with midfielder/forward Rupert Wills, each of whom enjoyed good moments in the win over Fremantle in Perth. This quartet have been named emergencies.

Promising inside midfielder Tyler Brown was given another senior opportunity with the Woods after playing his first official AFL match against the Dockers on Monday.

Tickets are still available via Ticketek. Collingwood members with match access entitlements can secure free tickets using their 2019 barcode.
