Collingwood won consecutive matches for the first time in 2019 after proving too strong for North Melbourne at Victoria Park on Saturday.

A wet and windy Melbourne afternoon made scoring difficult for both sides all day.

The Magpies raced out of the blocks with goals to Tim Broomhead, Ben Crocker and Sean Hetherington within the first six minutes giving them the upper hand, which they maintained until the final siren.

John Noble’s first goal for the club and Atu Bosenavualgi’s goal after the half-time siren lifted the team’s spirits heading to the main break and earned them a 25-point advantage.

The Pies managed to keep North at arm’s length for the duration of the second half.

Ben Crocker was a constant threat up forward for the Pies and kicked three majors as the game’s only multiple goal-kicker.

Bosenavulagi relished the slippery conditions and applied plenty of pressure all over the ground.

Noble impressed in his second outing for the club, showing some neat sidesteps and a good turn of pace from half-back. He finished with 24 disposals.
