Dear Magpie Army,

On behalf of everyone at Collingwood, thank you.

Yesterday’s game was one of those moments that reminds us what this Club is all about.

To have 90,028 Members and supporters fill the MCG to celebrate Scott Pendlebury’s record and recognise Sir Doug Nicholls Round made it truly special.

You didn’t just show up – you created something unforgettable. From the moment the players ran out, there was a sense of occasion. The energy was there early, the cheer squad created an incredible banner, and when the game paused at the 10-minute mark, the entire ground came together in a way that gave real meaning to the historic day.

We witnessed a strong contest on the field and credit to the West Coast Eagles (Waalitj Marawar) for the challenge they brought. While it was pleasing to see our players remain true to the team’s DNA, it was also a difficult day with a few injuries, most notably Jamie Elliott’s ACL injury. We are all thinking of Jamie and will support him every step of the way.

Post-game, the Pendlebury chant was a fitting tribute to a player and family who have given so much to this Club over such a long period of time.

These are all moments built by you, Collingwood fans. We often speak about our Members and supporters as our 19th player and yesterday showed exactly why. Your presence, your voice and your passion make a genuine difference and it never goes unnoticed.

Scott’s achievement is extraordinary in its own right, but the way it was recognised – Side by Side, as one Club – is what made it truly meaningful. To do so during Sir Doug Nicholls Round also reminds us of the broader impact of our game and the importance of respect, connection and community, values that sit at the heart of Collingwood.

While our AFL season continues, there’s plenty happening across the Club. Our AFLW program has returned for pre-season, with preparations building towards our first game on Saturday 16 August while our Wheelchair team kicked off its season with a win after-the-siren last weekend.

Our team continues to work hard behind the scenes to ensure all Members have the best possible experience at the MCG, Marvel Stadium and wherever you support the Pies across the country and around the world.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Our 19th player. Side by Side.
