Collingwood has made one change for Thursday night’s Round 20 clash with the Adelaide Crows at Adelaide Oval.
Experienced defender Jeremy Howe returns to the team after recovering from groin and hip soreness in the Pies’ Round 18 win over North Melbourne.
Howe will be a welcomed addition to the Pies defensive stocks who will have the tough task of manning a dangerous Adelaide forward-line featuring keys Taylor Walker, Riley Thilthorpe and Darcy Fogarty.
After impressing in his five games since debuting in the Pies’ Round 15 win over Port Adelaide, young midfielder Sam Swadling has been omitted for the match.
Swadling will join forward Jack Buller and midfielder Roan Steele as Collingwood’s emergencies for the clash.
In a rich vein of form, exciting midfielder Jordan De Goey is set to bring up game 200 when he runs out for the clash on Thursday night.
Likewise, defensive leader Isaac Quaynor will be making his 150th appearance at AFL level in the clash.
Utility Jack Crisp is set to play game 293, overtaking former Bulldog and current Collingwood Assistant Coach Matthew Boyd to move into third position for the most games by a player off the rookie list.
Thursday night’s clash will be the 55th clash between the two sides. The ledger is in Collingwood’s favour with 36 wins, 17 losses and one draw.
The two teams last met in Round 1 this season, with the Crows taking the chocolates on that occasion by 14 points at the MCG.
The match is set for Friday night at 7:00pm (ACST) / 7:30pm (AEST) at Adelaide Oval. The game will be broadcast live on 7, 7plus, Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.
