Cross-coder Maisie Nankivell has been named to make her Club debut when Collingwood host Fremantle at Victoria Park on Sunday afternoon.
Nankivell, who played two games with the Adelaide Crows in 2019, had a decorated Super Netball career with the Adelaide Thunderbirds which included accolades such as the Super Netball Rising Star and Young Player of the Year Award.
Following a move to the Melbourne Mavericks in 2024, Nankivell made the decision to return to AFLW at the end of 2025, signing a rookie deal with Collingwood.
Measuring at 176cm, the tall defender quickly asserted herself in the Pies’ backline this pre-season, recording an equal team-high 10 intercept possessions in Collingwood’s Practice Match with West Coast before sustaining a knee injury in the final moments.
Now, Nankivell will make her return to the football team as she faces the Dockers on Sunday afternoon as the AFLW side returns to Victoria Park for the first time in 2026.
Collingwood’s full team to face Fremantle will be released at 5pm AEST on Friday, with an extended squad announced at 6:20pm on Thursday.
The first ball up is scheduled for 12:35pm at Victoria Park, with fans encouraged to get along to the side's first home game of the year and celebrate Magpie Army Week.
