Collingwood confirms first-year Pie Mischa Barwin sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to her right knee.

The injury occurred during a training drill in today’s main session.

Drafted with Pick 28 in the 2025 NAB AFLW Draft, the Tasmanian local made her AFLW debut in Round 1 this season. The 18-year-old has since featured in all home-and-away games this year.

General Manager of Women’s Football Jess Burger said:

“This is incredibly unfortunate news for Mischa, who has made a significant impact since arriving at the Club.

“From day one, Mischa has embraced every aspect of our AFLW program. She consistently brings energy, intent and competitiveness, and has quickly become someone her teammates respect and look to. On the field, her work rate and commitment to learning has been exceptional in just her first year.

“We know ‘Mish’ will approach her recovery with the same dedication she has shown throughout her time at the Club. Above all we will wrap our arms around her as a person and will ensure as a program, we will do everything we can to support her through this challenging period.”
