Lucy Cronin is set to lead Collingwood in the Pies’ Pride Round clash with the Swans on Sunday afternoon at Windy Hill.

At 21 years and 13 days, Cronin will become the second youngest Collingwood Captain in history after Len Thompson in 1968 (20 years and 244 days).

AFLW Captain Ruby Schleicher was ruled out for the rest of the season earlier in the week after sustaining a shoulder fracture in Collingwood’s Round 9 clash with St Kilda, while Vice-captain Jordy Allen will also be sidelined for this weekend’s Pride double-header.

The defender sustained a low-grade calf injury at training this week, and a return to play timeline will be determined in the coming week.

Georgia Knight, Amy Smith, Ellie Brady, Kalinda Howarth and Zara Neuwirth have all been named as possible inclusions for Sunday’s clash.

This weekend marks an important date in the Collingwood calendar as the Pies celebrate Pride Round when they host the Swans at Windy Hill in a double-header, with a clash between Essendon and North Melbourne set to follow.

Fans can take full advantage of the occasion with a 2-for-1 offer available, allowing fans who purchase tickets to the first clash the opportunity to stay back for the second match up for free.

Collingwood’s final team will be announced on Friday 16 October at 5pm AEDT.
