Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury has not been ruled out of Saturday's big clash with Greater Western Sydney at Giants Stadium, despite needing surgery to mend the broken finger he suffered in the one-point win over West Coast.

The champion midfielder was at the Holden Centre for recovery on Monday and spoke to the media as he was leaving the club.

"I had surgery Saturday and I'll see the surgeon later this week and make a plan of attack from there ... based on how it's healing, the wound and what he thinks is the best course of action," Pendlebury said.

"It feels all right. It was pretty numb yesterday, and then today it feels fine.

"I'm really dictated by what the surgeon says when I meet him later in the week.

"I'll find out when I can get back."
