AFLW Rising Star nominee Jordy Allen will be back in black and white in 2020 after signing a new deal.

Allen and three other members of the Collingwood squad of 2019 - Kristy Stratton, Emma Grant and Sharni Layton – have re-committed which brings to 21 the number of players signed for the 2020 campaign.

Allen enjoyed a strong first season as a Magpie and became the second Collingwood debutant to receive a Rising Star nomination after an excellent performance in defence in round seven. The 18-year-old collected 10 disposals and, significantly, took six marks.

Layton will don the number one jumper for another season. The former Australian Diamonds netballer had the second highest amount of hit outs for the Pies (41) as back up to Eliza Hynes in the ruck.

With Grant and Stratton re-signed, Collingwood has all but settled its list for 2020. At present the club holds the second pick in October’s AFLW draft.
