Very special brothers, Cooper and Mitchell Anderton, were made Collingwood players for a day recently by their favourite Magpies, Jamie Elliott and Travis Cloke.

Two years ago, five-year-old Cooper was diagnosed with a rare disorder called Duchenne (Doo-Shen) Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disorder which results in progressive muscle weakness.

Sadly, Cooper’s older brother Mitchell was then diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma last October.

The boys spent a day as players at the Westpac Centre taking part in training, having lunch with the players and meetings with the coach, Nathan Buckley and CEO Gary Pert.

Jamie Elliott and Travis Cloke presented the boys with personalised guernseys and a pair of boots each and took them through training drills with the team.

Mitchell and Cooper’s day at Collingwood featured on Network Ten’s The Project.
