Collingwood's VFLW side will set out to add another chapter to the club’s history books when its meets the Western Bulldogs in the Grand Final this Sunday at Ikon Park.

The VFLW Magpies are only the second of the club's women's teams to make a grand final after the Tasmanian Magpies were crowned the 2018 Australian Netball League Champions.

Sunday's game will mark both the Pies' and Dogs' maiden VFLW Grand Final appearances.

The minor premiers booked their spot in the decider after downing the Southern Saints by 14 points in Sunday’s preliminary final.

In a tightly contested game, the Pies made the most of their opportunities and time with the ball. Goals from Chloe Molloy and Jaimee Lambert in the final term would ultimately see the Pies claim victory, 7.5 (47) to 5.3 (33).

The Bulldogs progressed through to the Grand Final after defeating the Pies 1.8 (14) to 4.2 (26) in last week’s semi-final.

The final will take place at Ikon Park with the first bounce set for 11.35am.

The game will be followed by the VFL men’s Grand Final of Richmond and Williamstown at 2.15pm.

Collingwood will announce its squad for Sunday’s game on Thursday night.

Both VFL Finals will be televised on Channel 7.
