Collingwood has launched its Next Generation Academy to help develop the junior talent in the extended Oakleigh region.

The Academy is open to everyone aged between 11 and 15 living within the region, but it is also dedicated to the development of future male and female footballers of multicultural or Indigenous backgrounds within the zone.

Participants in Collingwood’s Next Generation Academy will be given access to progressive skill sessions, practice matches and personal development under the guidance of Collingwood’s dedicated Next Generation Coaches and Development Officers.

They will also receive learning opportunities with Collingwood’s coaching and High Performance staff.

Collingwood’s Next Generation Academy Coach is Wayne Siekman, who is also the senior coach of the club’s AFL Women’s team.

The Next Generation Academy will also work closely with the Oakleigh Chargers’ development team.
