Collingwood pair Dale Thomas and Dayne Beams face lengthy stints on the sidelines as they seek to recover from injuries that have plagued them for some time.

Thomas underwent surgery on the ankle he originally injured back in round 15 last season on Tuesday morning. Should his rehabilitation progress well, he may return in the final rounds of the season.

Beams, meanwhile, will not play until after the bye weekend in round 13 owing to a quad injury that he originally sustained on the eve of the season.
