We’re back. Friday night football.

Collingwood will blood a new Magpie in round one with Tyler Brown pulling on the black and white for his first senior game of AFL.

The surname has a rich history at the club with father Gavin captaining the club, winning the 1990 premiership and playing 254 games.

Coach Nathan Buckley revealed on Wednesday that Brown would play if the AFL Commission gave the green light on round one in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.

“If we play, he’ll play. It’s probably the weirdest way to play your first game if it happens.

“No-one gets to choose what happens around them but I'm pretty sure if we're playing on Friday night then Tyler won't mind too much," Buckley said.

The 19-year-old was notified on Wednesday morning which will bring great excitement in light of playing in front of no fans.

"If you're talking about energy... there's nothing like having a debutant to galvanise the players into understanding how important we are to each other just to provide that energy and to be there for the players around us and I think Tyler helps with that," Buckley said.

Brown will lineup alongside brother Callum who has had an eye-catching pre-season.

Captain Scott Pendlebury and midfielder Taylor Adams have been named in the side despite mild concerns earlier in the week.

Collingwood's four emergencies are Darcy Cameron, Jaidyn Stephenson, Rupert Wills and Jay Rantall.

The first bounce at Marvel Stadium is set for 7.50pm. Tune in live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.
