Isaac Quaynor showed some great signs against the Bombers

The members of Collingwood's AFL list who were not selected for Friday night's clash with Essendon played a curtain-raiser against the Bombers at the MCG.

Under the guidance of head development coach Hayden Skipworth, the Pies won 11.8 (74) to 8.6 (54).

Here are Skipworth's thoughts on the best performers:

Flynn Appleby
Continued on from his solid performances in previous weeks. Created numerous opportunities in front of goal from half-forward.

Trent Bianco
Played his first game after recovering from a shoulder injury. Enjoyed a successful return and was lively off half-back.

Atu Bosenavulagi
Lively when he got the ball, creating plenty of opportunities to score. Defensive pressure again very good.

Will Kelly
Kicked three goals and presented well all day. Turned it on in the second half. Provided plenty of options for the midfielders and continued his good form.

Ben Reid
First game back since a calf injury. Played as a key forward, kicking two goals and presenting well. Got through unscathed across three quarters.

Nathan Murphy
Building each week. Kicking efficiency was a highlight. Moved the ball very well out of the back half.

Jack Madgen
Played a half and was then the carryover emergency for the AFL team. Kicking efficiency was very good. Close to best on ground at half-time before sitting out the rest of the game.

Isaac Quaynor
Spent a quarter on the wing and was very positive, impacting around stoppages. His run and carry off half-back was a highlight.
