Watch: Nathan Brown speak to CTV after training about his return to the side last week.

Premiership defenders Heath Shaw and Ben Reid will return from injury for the round six clash with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.

Shaw and Reid have both missed two matches with hamstring and quad injuries respectively, and are the only two inclusions to the side.

Jarryd Blair, who kicked the winning goal in the thrilling one-point ANZAC Day win over Essendon in round five, will miss with leg soreness, while youngster Paul Seedsman has been omitted.

Watch our flashback to the clash with the Western Bulldogs in 2000 here.

Seedsman has been named as an emergency along with first-year key forward Jackson Paine and ruckman Cameron Wood.

The return of Shaw and Reid bolsters a Collingwood defensive unit that has conceded 95 points per outing in five matches so far in 2012, ranked 13th in the competition. The Magpies were the best defensive side in the AFL through the home-and-away rounds of the 2011 season, conceding just 70 points per game.

Both players appeared in the first three matches of the season before sustaining injuries. Reid was substituted out of the round three loss to Carlton in the first half, while Shaw suffered his injury at training in the lead-up to the Port Adelaide game in round four.

The Bulldogs have regained experienced duo Daniel Giansiracusa (217 games, 257 goals) and Ryan Hargrave (195, 36) and have lost Jarrad Grant and Ayce Cordy to injury.

The home side has won two matches in a row (over Melbourne and Western Bulldogs) and sits 13th on the ladder with two wins and three losses, while the Magpies have also won two matches on the trot (Port Adelaide and Essendon) and sit 10th with three wins.

The teams will be competing for the annual Robert Rose Cup.

The Robert Rose Cup was first struck in 2000 to commemorate Rose’s contribution to sport and more importantly to raise funds for the Robert Rose Foundation. The foundation provides support to those suffering from spinal injuries and physical disabilities through Independence Australia.
