ANDREW Krakouer's appearance at a training session on Monday was part of Collingwood's schedule for the forward as he works through his month of personal leave.

The 29-year-old trained with the Pies' VFL team on Monday, just over two weeks after the club granted him a four-week leave of absence to deal with some off-field issues.

Coach Nathan Buckley said Krakouer's return to training was scheduled, but reiterated the club would not be drawn on constant updates of where he was at.

"It's part of the plan. We won't be giving blow by blows on where Krak is at," Buckley said on day one of the Magpies' Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Wangaratta.

"We've released a statement about his month to himself to make sure he gets things sorted, and things are on schedule.

"[I'm] in constant contact with Krak and the welfare of all our players is important, and he's no different."

Buckley said Krakouer's fitness was "OK", and agreed it was a positive to see the 125-game player back training and at the club.

"Obviously consistent training is going to be important for him but first thing's first, and that's why he's got that time to focus on other things first," he said.
