Collingwood forward Andrew Krakouer's showing in the VFL training session on Monday morning has impressed club officials.

The 29-year-old, who was granted extended leave from the club several weeks ago for personal reasons, was back training under the guidance of VFL head coach Tarkyn Lockyer.

Lockyer was pleased with the form of the Magpie who kicked 35 goals in 23 games for Collingwood last year.

"To have him back around the place was great,” Lockyer told collingwoodfc.com.au.

“The VFL boys were excited to have a player of his calibre out there with them.

“He was really excited out there.  It was just Krak, he hasn’t missed a beat.

“Hopefully this is one step into getting back into the best footy he can play.”
