With the game well and truly in the balance on Saturday night Harry O'Brien's move on to the damaging Adam Goodes in the second half was pivotal.  Not only did he quell the dangerous Goodes and help swing the balance of power at the stoppages back in the Magpies favour but he continued to provide terrific run and drive out of our back half.  It was the counter punch the Pies desperately needed and a BIG reason why we now find ourselves sitting in fourth spot.

It seemed a lot of people had plenty to say about Maxie's elevation to the most important job in the country before the season started - both media and 'unofficial' forums. I think we can safely say that the deafening silence on the subject these days is a fair indicator that the Pies got it right when selecting their new skipper.

It certainly is Alex but the job is done yet!  In fact it is far from being done.  That said, the ground work has been laid and the hard work is starting to pay off.  Fingers crossed.
