Collingwood has welcomed back Tyson Goldsack from an ankle injury and recalled youngster Jamie Elliott to help it overcome West Coast in Saturday night’s Semi-Final.

The pair replace captain Nick Maxwell, who was suspended for two weeks for rough conduct, and the omitted Ben Sinclair.

Goldsack has been a mainstay of the senior side all season, missing only three games due to a persistent ankle injury sustained against St Kilda in round 19.

He returns for his first September outing since the 2011 Qualifying Final, also against the Eagles, having missed the two remaining finals last season due to omission.

The 25-year-old’s flexibility will make him an important player on Saturday night. Although he has kicked 22 goals for the season playing mainly as a half forward, his history as a defender means he can provide able cover for Maxwell as a mid-sized half back.

Maxwell, who has been a member of Collingwood’s past 17 finals, will only reappear in 2012 should his side make the Grand Final.

Saturday’s other inclusion, Elliott, sat out the Magpies’ most recent clash with West Coast in round 22 but was a vital factor in his side's win over the Eagles at the MCG in round 13.

Despite returning a modest 15 possessions, Elliott’s final quarter was outstanding. The teenager chased and harassed his opposition on his way to winning seven disposals, six marks and seven tackles for the quarter.

In 13 senior games in his debut season, Elliott has been a regular contributor in attack where his tenacity and predilection for doing the one per centers means he should provide adequate cover for the omitted Sinclair.

Sinclair, who had seven disposals last week, has been named alongside Marty Clarke and Paul Seedsman as an emergency for Saturday night.

If you are heading to the game on Saturday night, make sure you visit the reopened Collingwood Superstore at the Westpac Centre, with adult guernseys reduced to only $55. While you’re there, check out the great display of club memorabilia and stop by the café and bar, which will be open from 4:00pm. The bar will remain open after the match.

Fans can also join Joffa and other members of the Magpie Army as they march Side By Side to the MCG on Saturday night. The march will leave the Westpac Centre at 6:45pm.
