Why did you support Collingwood?
I fell in love with the Magpies and as I found out about the history more and more, the more I fell in love with the concept of the team and the fact that it didn’t matter who you were or where you came from as long as you turned up for the game and barracked for Collingwood and supported Collingwood that you were a part of this amazing family, the Magpie Army.
Who was your first Magpie hero?
As a five-year old I feel in love with a certain player as you do and in my case it was a guy called Peter McKenna, who was the teenage/idol/pop star footballer of his day.
What is your first Collingwood memory?
I remember the first time I went to Victoria Park and I pulled up at Collingwood station and I thought my dad had mucked it up, he didn’t get up to get off the train and I looked around and none of the other supporters had either. I thought we must be going okay. We pulled up at Victoria Park station and as a young boy I couldn’t believe we had a railway station named after our home ground!
What can you recall from the 1990 premiership?
I was calling the game on radio that day which added a little bit of extra pressure for me and then ultimately when we got up and won the premiership I was on the ground with the players and celebrated long and hard for a number of months.
Where is the current playing list at?
I think we are going to have a very strong run into the finals series in September. We have had a number of injuries in the early part of the season which our players are now coming back from. As a result (of training in Arizona in the pre-season) we are going to have a strong physical presence in the back half of the season.
