Surgery for Rusling
Collingwood forward Sean Rusling has undergone a reconstruction to repair his left shoulder, injured during a Williamstown practice match last Friday.
Collingwood’s chief of football Geoff Walsh told collingwoodfc.com.au that the club is hopeful Rusling will make a complete recovery in around four months.
“We are hopeful, that with good rehabilitation and recovery, Sean will make a return to football by about round 15 or 16 of the 2007 season”, said Walsh.
20-year-old Rusling was advised by medical staff that it was best to undergo a reconstruction to ensure long-term strength and mobility in the joint he first injured during an intra-club practice match in February 2006.
Rusling has played 11 games in two seasons since being drafted by the Magpies from West Adelaide with the 23rd overall selection in the 2004 AFL Draft.
He has been hampered by injuries during his short career, having also suffered a broken collarbone towards the end of his rookie season.
