Beams felt soreness in his his foot during the third term and eventually was forced from the ground in the final quarter.

"He sustained a fracture in his fourth metatarsal in his right foot," Collingwood’s director of football Geoff Walsh told collingwoodfc.com.au on Tuesday morning.

"He will be at least spend a month on the sidelines."

The loss of Beams means Collingwood’s midfield will see at least two changes and a possible third (pending Dale Thomas’ tribunal hearing on Tuesday night) with Dane Swan missing next week while he trains in Arizona.

"We have a bye and then the doctors will reassess his (Beams) progress," Walsh added.

"As soon as he can bear weight on the injured foot he will be able to run."

Collingwoodfc.com.au will publish a response from the injured Magpie later today.
