A visit to the mayor
Collingwood received a proclamation from the Mayor of Flagstaff declaring two weeks in honour of the club
Collingwood’s 15th premiership was recognised by the city of Flagstaff with the mayor proclaiming from November 14 - 28, 2010 as ‘Collingwood Football Club Days’.
After a long day of training the playing group hiked into town to meet Mayor Sara Presler and to receive the proclamation.
“We are so excited in the city of Flagstaff to have the Collingwood Football Club here with us,” the mayor told the local citizens attending the city hall meeting.
“Congratulations on winning the premiership.”??Coach Mick Malthouse, skipper Nick Maxwell and sports science director accepted the proclamation on behalf of the group.
The highlight of the presentation was when the mayor welcomed ‘Neil’ Maxwell to kick off a rendition of the club song.
The team called it an early night with an eight-hour trek through the Grand Canyon scheduled for tomorrow.
