Collingwood's VFL side are set to take on Werribee at Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The line-up consists of 17 AFL listed players, headlined by Mason Cox and Will Hoskin-Elliott, both were left out of the senior side for round 5.

Brayden Sier and Trey Ruscoe have been included in the initial selection, their role in the VFL will be dependent on how much game time they do or don't get against the Eagles.

Pies fans choosing the trip down the highway over the flight to Perth will be excited to see the likes of Reef McInnes, Caleb Poulter, Nathan Murphy and Ollie Henry, all who have had strong pre-seasons.

McInnes plays his third game in the black and white after an interrupted start to his Collingwood career. A finger injury held the 18-year-old back from training with the main group for several months. However, since returning to training and in the practice matches against Geelong and Richmond, McInnes has impressed with his stoppage work and contested ability.

Poulter’s versatility has been the most eye-catching aspect to his game since coming to the Pies in 2020 draft. Initially being thought of as a dashing half-back, Poulter has found himself playing a lot more through the midfield and on the wing during the pre-season.

Murphy has been one of the best performers both on the track and in the VFL practice matches so far in 2021. Athletic and clever with the footy, Murphy is likely quite close to appearing again at AFL before season end. His marking capabilities make him an asset at both ends of the ground, an attribute we saw come into play against the Western Bulldogs in the first VFL practice match in March. Murphy debuted against Fremantle in 2018 but has since found himself just outside the senior side.

Henry was rewarded for his outstanding pre-season form with a debut in Round 1 against the Western Bulldogs, the 18-year-old will look to continue his good form in the VFL. High flying, quick and dynamic, Henry will enjoy working around the forward line with players such as Mason Cox and Will Kelly taking the tall Werribee defenders.

Other notable inclusions for the match are Trey Ruscoe, Max Lynch, Tom Wilson and Will Kelly who are all battling for the final spots in the senior side.

Pies fans should look out for the VFL listed players such as Callan Wellings, co-captain Lachlan Tardew, Kaden Schreiber and Cody Stackelberg.

Collingwood members wanting to attend can purchase tickets here. It is essential you pre-purchase.

Fans not able to make the trip down the highway will be able to tune into a live stream coverage throughout the afternoon.
