A couple of big inclusions will help the Pies VFL side face a travelling Gold Coast team at the Holden Centre on Friday afternoon.

In what was a disappointing loss to the Bombers last weekend, the side will look to kick-start some momentum for the season.

Jack Madgen and Brayden Sier will make their first appearances for the VFL side this weekend after losing their spots in the senior side. Sier was meant to play VFL last weekend, however was forced to isolate under COVID-19 protocols as he was a part of the side that travelled to Perth.

Will Kelly returns to the VFL side after one game in the senior team. Mark Keane’s return from suspension pushes Kelly out of the AFL team, while Trey Ruscoe also comes back to VFL level on Friday afternoon.

Gold Coast are coming off the back of a great victory in the VFL against the Swans. A 14-point upset at Metricon Stadium, led by Darcy MacPherson’s 2 goals and 23 disposals. Will Brodie also impressed with 31 disposals himself, alongside 2 goals. Experienced defender Jarrod Harbrow had 25 disposals including 22 kicks.

Max Lynch and Mason Cox will have their work cut out for them against experienced ruckman Zac Smith who was impressive last weekend with 31 hit-outs.

Fans not able to make it to the Holden Centre will be able to tune in live on the stream at collingwodfc.com.au
