In positive injury news for the Pies, Trent Bianco returns from a lengthy stint on the sidelines with knee inflammation and will play VFL on Saturday.

Defender Jeremy Howe is getting closer to being available to selection after making good progress with a hamstring issue, while Taylor Adams and Jamie Elliott continue to ramp up their running from their respective injuries.

Our resident injury report host, Kevin White has also been struck down with illness and was unavailable to record the round 8 episode.

Trent Bianco (knee) - Available for selection

  • Completed a strong three week training block since knee inflammation. Bianco will be available for VFL selection on Saturday.

Mason Cox (hamstring) - Expected return: Test

  • A late withdrawal from the VFL last week with hamstring soreness. Cox will need to train full this week to be available for selection.

Liam McMahon (ankle) - Expected return: Test

  • A late withdrawal from the VFL last week with a rolled ankle. McMahon's function will be monitored throughout the week to see if he is right to go in the VFL on Saturday.

Taylor Adams (knee) - Expected return: 4-5 weeks

  • Positive review from specialist and is now out of the knee brace. Adams has started a running program and agility work. 

Jamie Elliott (lower leg) - Expected return: 5-6 weeks

  • Started on ground running. Elliott will continue to progress straight line running over the next two weeks.

Levi Greenwood (concussion) - Expected return: TBA

  • As per last week, Greenwood is moving through a cautious approach with concussion due to history. In the process of increasing training after approvals from doctors.

Jeremy Howe (hamstring) - Expected return: 1 week

  • Completed a solid football session last Saturday. Progressing into high speed work this week and will look to play in round 9 against Sydney.
